Starting this fall Dr. Veenema will be serving as Senior Expert Consultant to the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. She will be working specifically on the school’s CDC PERLC grant establishing a Columbia Regional Learning Center for Disaster Preparedness and Response.

From the CRLC web site:

The Columbia Regional Learning Center is one of 14 Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLCs) established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to enhance public health training and workforce.

The Columbia Regional Learning Center builds upon the expertise and resources that have enabled the National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP), through its Center for Public Health Preparedness, to have provided nearly 97,000 training experiences for public health workers since 2001.
