The TenER Consulting Group LLC, in conjunction with corporate partners Elsevier | MC Strategies and GE Healthcare, along with the National American Red Cross, is pleased to announce the launch of a major national disaster nursing and emergency preparedness campaign — Making Every Nurse a Prepared Nurse.

The overarching goal of this campaign is to support the development of a nationwide nursing workforce that is effectively prepared to respond to a catastrophic disaster or major public health emergency; and to promote optimum quality of health care and patient safety in times of great chaos and distress. Our campaign is reaching out to nurses nationwide to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to achieve this goal.

The key elements of the Making Every Nurse a Prepared Nurse campaign focus on providing nurses with educational and training opportunities that prepare them to practice competently, confidently, and safely in disaster and emergency situations. These elements include:

  • National Webcasts
  • Local and Regional Seminars
  • National Presentations
  • Online Education, such as with the MC Strategies’ ReadyRN Disaster Nursing and Emergency Preparedness online course, and promotion of relevant DHHS and CDC web resources
  • Print Resources, such as the Elsevier/Mosby ReadyRN Disaster Nursing and Emergency Preparedness Handbook
  • Disaster Drills and Table-Top Exercises
  • And More…

Whether faced with a mass casualty incident, terrorist event, natural disaster or other public health emergency, all of us will be expected to be in the forefront of response, mitigation, and recovery. The ReadyRN suite of tools was developed to add disaster nursing and emergency preparedness to our knowledge base and help promote a workforce that is ready to respond to any disaster or public health emergency.
